Living in a cosmopolitan city like New York is good in many ways, but at times I feel I am lost somewhere. Life is so busy that I can’t keep track of time and days. Me and my husband both work in different fields and hardly get any time for us. This summer, we decided to go to some island, where we can sit, relax and do some water adventures together. After checking all the top tourist attractions for the season, we decided to go to Punta Cana, which is the eastern province of the Dominican Republic. This area is known for its white sandy beaches and balnearios, which face both the Caribbean and Atlantic, mild climatic conditions and it has been a favorite tourist destination since 1970.
We fly from JFK to The Punta Cana International Airport which indeed is one of the busiest airports in the Caribbean, and has the honor of being the first privately owned international airport in the world. By a report published by U.C.L.A, Punta Cana is ranked 79 in the top 100 places to visit before you die.
We stayed in an all inclusive resort, which was located close to the beach, and it us only a few minutes to hit the sand. We went there to relax but the place was awesome. There was so much to do like visit to Manati Park for a dolphin encounter, Snorkeling in warm Caribbean water and amazing part was the tour rates. Our guide took $100 from each of us and gave us our individual speed boat to drive in the sea, when he along with other guests was leading us. In the middle of sea, we stopped our boat and with all equipments jumped in water, I never saw sea life that closely, we were given fish food and nothing beats feeding fishes in sea from your hands. It was a once in life experience. Our guides assisted other people in seeing the sea world who was not swimmers.
Other activities available were Boating, Rowing or canoeing, Water skiing, Whale-watching, Skydiving, Aerobics, Helicopter/airplane tours, fishing kayaking, parasailing, motor boating. For people who were interested in sports, all types of outdoor sports were available like Golfing, Basketball, Tennis, Bicycle rentals, Mountain biking, horse riding, swimming, surfing, and bowling alley.
Our rooms were equipped with all types of facilities like air conditioning, phones, refrigerators, cable TV, hairdryers, and more. Some of the rooms have terraces or balconies. The Resort also had a Spa and a variety of shops. For dining we had option to dine at any of the 7 onsite restaurants. Food was amazing and variety was huge. On the evenings, local DJ hosts a party by pool and we used to drink and dance as much as we can. Other recreational and relaxing activities available were spa, a sauna, a steam room, and a fitness room, Massage center, Beauty Salon, Body Treatments and facial Treatments.
We Stayed there for a week and I had the time of my life.
